COLD IS GOLD × RAM MOUNTS UK
OPERATIONAL BRIEF · SEPTEMBER 2026

A predictable flow
of new fleet and depot customers.

This document sets out an operational plan for winning new fleet and depot customers through cold email outreach, aimed at fleet managers, operations managers and depot managers across the United Kingdom. Reading time about 6 minutes.

What follows is a first pass, put together ahead of our conversation to give you a concrete sense of how we work.

The prospects, signals and projections shown here are working assumptions — we will refine all of it together once the campaign is under way.

The point of this document is to let you picture concretely what a campaign could produce.

01 / YOUR BUSINESS

We know your DNA.

RAM® Mounts is the world leader in device mounting. The range was introduced in 1992 by National Products Inc., which still designs and manufactures it in Seattle, and RAM Mount UK has served the British market since 2004. The whole catalogue is built on a single modular ball and socket system of roughly 5,000 interchangeable components, which is how the same family of parts ends up in an HGV cab, on a forklift, on a wheelchair and on a Formula One test rig. The mounts themselves carry a genuine lifetime warranty, not a warranty for the expected life of the product.

What sets you apart

Modularity treated as a standard rather than an option. One ball and socket system covers an HGV cab, a van, a forklift, a workbench, a tractor, a bus and a refuse collection vehicle, so a mixed fleet never needs a different cradle per vehicle and per device. It is also what makes you compatible with every rugged terminal on the market, with dedicated fittings for Zebra, Samsung Galaxy Tab Active, Honeywell, Panasonic and Otterbox. And the mounts are aluminium and composite, built to damp shock and vibration, and covered for life rather than for the life of the vehicle they are fitted to.

What we will push for you

Two angles, run side by side. The first is timing: get the mount specified before the devices arrive, rather than after. It answers the problem you described yourselves, where RAM turns up last, once the tablets have already been bought and nothing in the cab will hold them. The second is standardisation: one mounting standard across the whole fleet, fitted once, against a drawer of mismatched cradles and a fresh round of buying at every device refresh. Which of the two goes out is not decided in advance. It depends on the company we are contacting and on the signal we find on it: an operator that has just announced a device rollout or a vehicle order gets the timing angle, while a multi-depot operator running a mixed fleet with no dated rollout gets the standardisation angle.

02 / YOUR MARKET

A market identified and qualified.

The database follows your own taxonomy rather than one of our making: the six enterprise verticals on ram-mount.co.uk, plus aviation, which you raised as an expansion market. Every figure below comes from a named public register rather than a market estimate, because these numbers will be read by people who will want to check them. The backbone is the Traffic Commissioners' register: 66,222 goods vehicle operator licences and 5,280 PSV licences in force across Great Britain, which is where haulage, distribution, waste, construction and bus and coach all sit under the same licence. To that we add warehousing and storage businesses from the ONS business register, van-only fleets that fall outside operator licensing, commercial farm holdings of 100 hectares and over, mobility and assistive technology providers, police forces and fire and rescue services, and UK AOC holders. United Kingdom only, as agreed. Job titles are layered by company size: the owner below ten people, the fleet or operations manager alongside the director between ten and two hundred, and the fleet, operations, transport or depot manager alone above two hundred.

How we build this database

We cross-reference several B2B data sources (LinkedIn databases, trade directories, public registers) to identify the organisations that match your criteria. Every contact is then verified and enriched by artificial intelligence: identifying the decision-maker, validating the work email address, checking the business is actually trading. None of this can be done by hand across thousands of rows — that is what makes qualification at scale possible.

Why only 50% are contactable

On any given market we will not always find a named decision-maker or a valid work email address. This 50% ratio is deliberately conservative, so that the projections you read are realistic rather than optimistic.

This market is presented as an illustration, to let you picture the scale. We can run the same analysis on any segment or geographic area you want to target.
03 / AI PERSONALISATION

Emails that read as if they were written by hand.

The difference between an email that gets deleted and one that gets a reply is almost never the offer. It is whether the first sentence could have been written about anybody else. A line about how impressive a company is can be sent to fifty thousand people. A line naming the depot, the vehicles authorised on the operator licence, or the scanner listed in a live job advert can only be sent to one. So every signal below is a fact that can be checked, pulled from a source your prospects would recognise from their own trade. And none of them is based on trade show attendance, which you told us you receive fifty to sixty times a show and ignore every time.

The principle is simple. When the prospect reads the email, the thought should be “this person has actually looked me up”, not “this is a bot”. Every personalised sentence names a precise, checkable fact, in the prospect's own vocabulary.

Here are the 4 types of signal we would use to personalise every email sent on your behalf.

01

The operating profile, from the public register

What we look for What the business actually runs: vehicles authorised, operating centre addresses, number of depots, vehicle types, working radius.
Where we find it The Vehicle Operator Licensing register and the weekly Notices and Proceedings published by the Traffic Commissioners, which name the operator, the operating centre, the vehicles authorised and the transport manager. Companies House and the company's own site for activity outside licensing.
Findable on 80% of prospects
Raw data

Intake Transport holds a goods vehicle operator licence at Flixborough Industrial Estate, Scunthorpe, with a second centre in Glasgow, and runs heavy haulage up to 80 tonnes.

AI personalisation →

“Running heavy haulage out of Flixborough and Glasgow, with loads going up to 80 tonnes, your drivers are working off route plans and convoy notes in the cab all day.”

02

Live recruitment adverts

What we look for What they are hiring for right now, and above all what the advert says about the workstation: the depot, the shift pattern, the truck or vehicle type, and very often the device itself.
Where we find it Company careers pages, Indeed, Reed, CV-Library, Jobsite, Totaljobs, sector recruiters, and hiring posts on LinkedIn.
Findable on 70% of prospects
Raw data

Translink Express Logistics is advertising warehouse operative roles at its Lutterworth site, on rotating shifts, requiring counterbalance and reach FLT licences and hand scanner experience.

AI personalisation →

“You’re hiring reach and counterbalance drivers at Lutterworth on rotating shifts, all of them on hand scanners, which is a lot of handsets moving round a site that only opened this month.”

03

New vehicles or equipment entering service

What we look for A dated announcement of vehicles, machines or handling equipment coming into service: make, model, quantity, depot. Orders placed and staggered deliveries included.
Where we find it Sector trade press (Motor Transport, Commercial Motor, Transport Engineer, Route One, LetsRecycle, Builders Merchants Journal, Farmers Guide), manufacturer and dealer releases, the company news page, the director’s LinkedIn.
Findable on 45% of prospects
Raw data

Kane Group took delivery of ten Renault C440 eight-wheel tippers, its first ever Renault order, as a fleet renewal out of its St Albans site.

AI personalisation →

“Ten new C440 eight-wheelers is a lot of cabs to kit out at once, and the tipper spec sheet never says where the phone goes.”

04

A system or device deployment

What we look for A WMS or ePOD going live, a telematics rollout, a site opening, or the adoption of a specific rugged terminal. The sign that a device estate is about to grow or change.
Where we find it Case studies and releases from software vendors and manufacturers (Mecalux, Zebra, Samsung, Microlise, Geotab, Podfather), logistics press, site opening announcements, and the company’s own job adverts, which often name the hardware and the software.
Findable on 30% of prospects
Raw data

WARE UK went live with Mecalux Easy WMS at its new Knowsley distribution centre in February 2026, across a catalogue of more than 40,000 lines.

AI personalisation →

“Going live with Easy WMS at Knowsley means scanners on every reception bay and picking round, which is usually when the question of where they actually sit comes up.”

04 / PROSPECT SAMPLE

12 organisations identified by our AI.

Before building the full database we put together a sample, so that you can judge the quality of the targeting rather than take our word for it. These twelve are real UK organisations, each with a named individual and a signal dated to 2026. The weighting follows what you told us: the heaviest load on road transport, distribution and warehousing, then bus and coach, waste and construction, with field service, agriculture, mobility and emergency services sprinkled through so you can see how we would reach the rest. The same research is then applied across the entire database.

For each prospect, our AI identifies a concrete signal: a recent announcement, an expansion, a change in how they operate. That signal is what justifies contacting them now, and it is the raw material for personalising the email.

This sample is a preview of what your full database will look like. You will get to review it and steer us before the campaign goes live.

IT
HEAVY HAULAGE
Intake Transport
Richard Burgin · Managing Director, The Intake Group
LinkedIn ↗
General and heavy haulage out of Scunthorpe and Glasgow, acquired in 2024 and investing hard since
Signal detected

July 2026. Seven new DAF trucks entered the fleet through Asset Alliance Group: six XG 530 tractor units with tag axles, plus an XG+ 530 heavy-haulage unit configured for combinations up to 80 tonnes. The fleet now runs 15 tractor units and around 100 specialist trailers. Jamie Pierce, director, framed it as part of a wider push on both fleet and workforce since the 2024 acquisition.

Why this prospect for RAM Mounts UK

Seven new cabs arriving at the depot with no mounting specified. On heavy haulage the driver juggles route plans, load charts, convoy notes and a phone all day, so the terminal cannot live on the passenger seat. And because the fleet is mixed, standard tractors alongside an 80-tonne unit, this is exactly the case where a modular ball and socket system saves specifying a different cradle for every cab.

AL
DISTRIBUTION
Aztek Logistics
Stuart Charter · Founder & Managing Director
LinkedIn ↗
Independent haulier and logistics operator, Pallet-Track shareholder member, FORS Gold, 7-acre site in Letchworth
Signal detected

August 2026. Three new 18-tonne MAN TGX trucks and nine Lawrence David trailers joined the fleet, including two double-deckers, an urban trailer and a four-metre trailer. Five are already delivered, the remaining four arrive before Christmas. Separately, Aztek acquired a new warehouse to absorb growth in demand, taking the Letchworth site to 130,000 sq ft of bulk and racked storage.

Why this prospect for RAM Mounts UK

The ideal profile, because it holds both halves of RAM’s core market at once: new cabs on one side, 130,000 sq ft of warehouse on the other. Aztek runs online proof of delivery with track and trace and signature capture, so every driver carries a terminal. Twelve new vehicles and trailers inside a few months is a specification moment, not a rolling replacement.

FB
BUS & COACH
Falcon Buses
Richard Telling · Managing Director
LinkedIn ↗
Family-owned independent Surrey bus operator running services for Surrey County Council
Signal detected

End of July 2026. Falcon became the first independent operator to put the next-generation Alexander Dennis Enviro200EV into service: thirteen electric buses on route 436 (Weybridge to Woking) and route 461 (Chertsey to Kingston). The Byfleet depot was fitted with a dedicated 1500 kVA supply, six 60 kW chargers and three 120 kW chargers. The order came through a joint bid with Surrey County Council to phase 2 of the ZEBRA scheme.

Why this prospect for RAM Mounts UK

Thirteen new driver cabs delivered in one go, at an operator small enough for the managing director to decide himself. An electric bus cab concentrates ticketing terminal, driver device, phone and charge monitoring screens in a very small space. This is also an operator in the middle of professionalising its depot, so the fitting-out window is open right now.

TE
3PL WAREHOUSE
Translink Express Logistics
Ryan Wallis · Head of Warehousing
Fast-growing Pallet-Track member, up nearly 32% over two years, Narborough HQ plus a new Lutterworth site
Signal detected

September 2026. The new low-carbon 3PL site at Bilton Way, Lutterworth comes fully into operation this month. It takes total warehousing capacity to 170,000 sq ft and more than 14,000 storage locations run on warehouse management software, with solar panels, EV chargers and lithium-powered forklifts and pump trucks. In parallel the 66,000 sq ft Narborough headquarters is being converted into a palletised freight sortation centre. Ryan Wallis has just joined as Head of Warehousing, one of four senior appointments.

Why this prospect for RAM Mounts UK

A site opening this month, a fleet of new trucks, a WMS that assumes a terminal at every station, and a warehousing lead who arrived weeks ago with a mandate to organise it all. Three conditions that rarely line up at the same time. RAM covers exactly this ground with the Tough-Claw range and square post clamps, from the forklift through to the workstation.

OI
COLD CHAIN
Oakland International
Dean Attwell · Co-founder & Managing Director
LinkedIn ↗
Independent multi-temperature 3PL, chilled and frozen storage, food e-fulfilment and retail services
Signal detected

May and July 2026. Two investments back to back. In May, construction began on a 6,000 pallet frozen cold store at the Bardon site. In July, an eighth Pick By Light picking system went in at the Redditch headquarters, to support growth in D2C, e-commerce and hybrid retail models.

Why this prospect for RAM Mounts UK

A warehouse at minus 28 degrees is the environment that breaks standard mounts: plastic goes brittle, suction cups let go, and generic cradles do not survive the condensation and the knocks of handling. That is precisely the argument for aluminium and composite with vibration damping, and for a lifetime warranty. Eight Pick By Light lines also means a device estate growing station by station.

AW
WASTE
Anglian Waste Recycling Group
Lee Storer · Managing Director & founder
LinkedIn ↗
Multi-service group: waste and recycling, demolition, asbestos removal, earthworks, scaffolding
Signal detected

2026. The group acquired LW Skips, a skip operator established for more than 25 years in Cannock and covering Lichfield, Burntwood, Rugeley, Walsall and the wider Birmingham area. It marks the group’s entry into the Midlands. Lee Storer announced a programme of fleet rebranding, operational improvements and additional equipment, with further investment and recruitment to follow.

Why this prospect for RAM Mounts UK

A fleet rebrand means every vehicle passes through the workshop one by one, which is the exact moment a cab mount can be added or standardised with no extra downtime. And merging two fleets that have never shared a standard is the problem a single modular system solves. On top of that, separate food waste collection has been mandatory in England since 1 April 2026, pushing operators to expand their specialist vehicle fleets.

KG
CONSTRUCTION
Kane Group
Andy Kane · Owner & Director
Specialist contractor to the construction industry: demolition, remediation, earthworks, heavy plant hire
Signal detected

2026. The first Renault Trucks order in the company’s history: ten C440 eight-wheel tippers as a fleet renewal. The vehicles are based at the St Albans headquarters and work within a 30 to 40 mile radius on day-to-day muck-away and aggregate movements.

Why this prospect for RAM Mounts UK

Ten new cabs at once, at a company where the owner decides alone. A construction tipper is about the harshest vibration environment there is, which is where a composite and aluminium mount justifies itself against a suction cradle without any argument needed. The driver is on a phone constantly for load tickets and site coordination, more often than not with the device in hand.

MC
FIELD SERVICE
MCFT (McFarlane Telfer)
David Meacock · Group Director of Engineering
LinkedIn ↗
Independent specialist in commercial kitchen and refrigeration maintenance, over 30 years, engineers nationwide
Signal detected

May 2026. An order for twenty Farizon SV L1H1 83 kWh electric vans, Farizon’s first large UK fleet deal, supplied by Heathrow Van Centre. Every van is fitted with bespoke racking supplied and fitted by Van Racking Solutions. The vehicles go to catering and refrigeration engineers for maintenance visits and equipment deliveries to commercial kitchens. MCFT trialled the Farizon for a month against three competing electric vans, across four sites, judging load space, versatility, range and ease of use.

Why this prospect for RAM Mounts UK

The best qualified prospect on this list, for one specific reason: they are already having the inside of their vans fitted out to order. The equipment decision is made, the installer is appointed, the specification exists. What is missing is where the engineer’s device goes, which today is a pocket or a passenger seat. An engineer reading a machine sheet in front of a broken oven needs the screen mounted, not held.

KE
AGRICULTURE
Kelling Estate
Chris Hill · Estate Manager
900-hectare estate on the north Norfolk coast, bringing its land back in hand
Signal detected

September 2026. A change of farming policy: the end of a shared farming agreement with a neighbouring farmer and contractor brings 650 hectares back into direct management. The estate therefore has to build its own machinery fleet from nothing. A Fendt 516 Vario was delivered on 1 September, with a Fendt 720 Profi Plus on loan from the dealer until the ordered machine arrives.

Why this prospect for RAM Mounts UK

Rare to the point of being unusual: a farming operation buying its entire machinery fleet from a blank sheet, right now. Every tractor cab is about to receive a guidance screen, a field record tablet and a phone, and nobody has yet decided how any of it is held. The RAM Tough-Track range exists for exactly this, and the moment will not come round again for another decade.

MT
MOBILITY
The Mountain Trike Company
Tim Morgan · Founder & Managing Director
British manufacturer of all-terrain wheelchairs, born out of a mechanical engineering final-year project at Bath
Signal detected

2026. Frame manufacturing brought fully in-house after investing in a Kemppi TIG welder and opening a new in-house fabrications bay, following the closure of their previous supplier GB Engineering. This follows the expansion of the production premises to absorb a widening product range.

Why this prospect for RAM Mounts UK

This is the market you want to open and that you describe yourselves as structurally difficult. Mountain Trike is the exception to that difficulty: a manufacturer rather than a regional dealer, now controlling the design and production of its own frames. A user on an all-terrain chair needs their phone, GPS or camera held on the frame, not in an unreachable pocket, and RAM already has a B-size wheelchair base range. The conversation is about a catalogue accessory fitted at the factory, not a one-off sale.

DF
EMERGENCY
Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service
Dean Frith · Group Manager, Fleet and Equipment
County fire and rescue service, mid-way through a frontline fleet modernisation programme
Signal detected

April 2026. Nine new fire engines entered service as part of a £5 million programme to modernise the frontline fleet and strengthen heavy rescue capability. Dean Frith, Group Manager for Fleet and Equipment, presented the appliances as a structural investment in the service’s future.

Why this prospect for RAM Mounts UK

The only prospect on this list where RAM already has a named British reference. Your Body Worn Video solution, Klick Fast compatible, moves the camera from vest to vehicle to station, and is already in service with Hampshire Constabulary, Merseyside Police, Norfolk Constabulary and Lincolnshire Police. Nine new cabs to equip, a contact whose job title is literally Fleet and Equipment, and an argument that needs no demonstration because four police forces are already using it.

WU
WHOLESALE
WARE UK
Jon Crossfield · Operations Manager
LinkedIn ↗
Cleaning and catering wholesaler, more than 40,000 lines, distribution centre in Knowsley
Signal detected

February 2026. A move into a new warehouse at Knowsley and the go-live of Mecalux Easy WMS to run receiving, picking and despatch. The site takes ten to twelve inbound lorries a day. Jon Crossfield, Operations Manager, set the objective as full traceability across the SKU range and complete stock visibility, on a catalogue running from janitorial supplies to glassware and packaging.

Why this prospect for RAM Mounts UK

A WMS go-live is by definition a device deployment: scanners on receiving, terminals on the trucks, check stations on despatch. The software is bought, the devices follow, and nobody has yet dealt with where they sit. On glassware and packaging handled all day, a dropped terminal is a broken terminal and a picking line at a standstill. This is also the prospect whose job title matches your stated target exactly: operations manager, not director.

Worth knowing: phases 2, 3 and 4 run alongside the technical setup (phase 1). In practice, during the one-month technical warm-up we build your database and write your sequence — so the first emails go out in week 5.

Phase 1 — Technical setup

Registering the dedicated sending domains, configuring SPF/DKIM/DMARC, opening and setting up the email addresses, starting the warm-up (1 month). Nothing required from your side.

Phase 2 — Workshop (1h)

A structured session to agree the shape of the database and the tone of the emails, and to gather your case studies and differentiators. This phase runs in parallel with phase 1 (technical setup).

Phase 3 — Writing the sequence

We write a first version, take your feedback and refine it, then layer in the AI personalisation (the signals set out above). The overall email content is signed off before we move on to the database.

Phase 4 — Building the database

We put together a prospect sample (like the 12 above) for you to sign off. Once approved, we build the full database with quality control: field checks, contact qualification.

Phase 5 — Campaign launch

Sending starts as soon as the warm-up is complete. First results within the first week. Live tracking of the numbers that matter: open rate, reply rate, opportunities generated.

Phase 6 — Reporting & optimisation

Live reporting through our platform. Continuous adjustment and A/B testing on subject lines, opening sentences and sequences. Regular reviews, monthly or quarterly depending on results.

Our commitment
No contractual commitment on the number of opportunities.

How the guarantee works, in 3 clauses.

Day 0 · Launch
CLAUSE.01
Our commitment

We commit to generating at least opportunities per month, that is opportunities over months. That target matches the low scenario in our projections (10% of our clients' campaigns).

Month+1 · Review
CLAUSE.02
If we fall behind the target

As soon as a month closes below opportunities, your billing is frozen immediately. In practice: you pay nothing from that month onwards until we have made up the full shortfall. You never pay for a month in which we failed to deliver.

Month+3 · Limit
CLAUSE.03
If we stay behind for 3 consecutive months

You can terminate at no cost. We keep working for free through those 3 months of shortfall; beyond that, we accept the failure and you are no longer billable.

Dynamic values

The figures in these clauses are not fixed: they are recalculated automatically from the inputs in your simulation above. The final contractual commitment will depend on the parameters we agree together at the start of the engagement.

Contractual definition of an opportunity: a prospect who replies positively to one of our outreach emails, asking for information or for a meeting.

On top of the fees, 3 technical costs to budget for.

The first is a one-off investment that is yours for life — your prospect data stays yours even if you stop working with us. The other two are technical monthly subscriptions, unavoidable for any cold email sending.

A CLOSING WORD

This document is not a sales pitch. It is a projection built on the real numbers from our campaigns — the scenarios shown are not promises, they are averages observed across our clients.

Our method has been running for several years. It works as soon as the fundamentals are in place: a clearly identified market, a differentiated position, and a measured closing rate. RAM Mounts UK has all three.

Our conviction is that we can install for you a steady flow of qualified opportunities over the next 12 months — with indicators we steer together, month after month.

Whenever you want to talk it through properly, we are here.
